Today I watched a vid-grid on the planet 200 years ago. The grid said the planet had real live growing plants and animals, whatever those are.
Ellen found out that she is to go to the bioshop. If she refuses, she goes to the flesh mall.
I have to go. It's almost time for sleep period. I don't want to go through detention for missing sleep period again. I barely got out alive last time.

In the election of 2019, President Irvin Carter was elected. Tensions were running high between Cuba and our country. President Carter declared war on Cuba. In violation of the Nuclear Act of 2003, Carter used nuclear bombs and eventually sank the island country, drowning those who survived the nuclear attack. Impressed by Carter's effective ruthlessness, Congress adopted a totalitarian government. Carter then declared war on the People's Republic of China. Countries took sides and fought the most devastating war in human history, causing death to untold millions and throwing the earth into nuclear winter. To protect the survivors, artificial water and oxygen were invented in 2020 and lead glass was used to make huge domes. To further improve our quality of life, biological testing and experimentation facilities, also known as "bioshops," were established to construct a human that can survive in the harsh condition caused by the nuclear war. Our feeding facilities, known as "flesh malls," were created to process and feed humans, both creating new humans to keep our race alive and reprocessing the dead into vital minerals to feed them.

The History Instruction gave us a lecture on World War III. I don't think Carter should have been given so much power. Maybe we wouldn't be living like we do now. I would love to know the two people that donated their genes to create me. Children are put into eds as soon as they are born.
Ellen was put in the statsis gel this morning. I'll miss her. I'll probably get in trouble for being her friend. It's sort of an unspoken rule not to make friends. The instructors and administrators kind of look down on friendships.
And I discovered something about the flesh malls that feed us: It's a human chop shop! You know how people used to steal automobiles and then sell off the parts before the war? It's the same with flesh malls, if you can afford it. Perfectly healthy humans are taken away, killed, and then their parts are sold to the highest bidder. No wonder Ellen was so eager to risk death in the bioshop.
This is outrageous! I'm going to write the head administrator.

I found out something very upsetting about the flesh malls. They are used to take healthy humans and sell off their parts. We not only consume our own species, but we sell them off before they are ready to die. I feel sickened by this. We have to stop it.

There is no need to be upset by our feeding facilities. We need to eat others to stay alive. After World War III, other sources of sustenance became useless because of radioactive content. Think of it as a way to keep our society from deteriorating by cleaning out all the dead and unproductive citizens.

A young computer hacker almost spelled doom for our dome yesterday evening. Olivia Oleynak, 13, tried to destroy all systems in a fit of hormonal rage. Luckily, the problem was detected before any damage was done. Oleynak will spend thirty day is statis containment and have regular depressant injections after her containment until she has reached hte age for bioshop penalty experiments.
