Poker Game

Four people gather for their yearly poker game,
Famine, Pestilence, Hate, and Death.
We all know their claim to fame.
As the dealer, Ignorance, dealt the cards,
He asked Famine, "Has claiming been hard?"
Said Famine, "I made many hunger for their bread.
"They starved until they were dead."
He then produced a three of a kind.
As Ignorance dealt Pestilence his cards,
He asked him, "Was this year very hard?"
Said Pestilence, "Many of my weapons were stolen this year,
"But I still have my AIDS and cancer spears."
Grinning, he showed his friends his flush.
As Ignorance gave Hate his hand,
He asked, "Did you fare as bad?"
Said Hate, "I planted my seed in many a head,
"And watched with glee as the people killed each other dead."
He then showed his full house.
As Ignorance dealt to the last one,
He asked Death, "Did you have fun?"
Said Death, "All I had to do was watch the people roll in.
"I am the result of what the other three did,
"And I believe, gentlemen, that my hand wins."
The other three were crushed,
As Death produced a royal straight flush.
Four people gather for their yearly poker game.
Famine, Pestilence, Hate, and Death come here,
And Death easily wins every year.
