DH: Introducing first...
[The lights suddenly go out, and the opening strands of Deep Purple's "Knocking At Your Back Door" come over the PA system. As the volume increases, a spotlight starts randomly flashing around the arena, as if searching for somebody. This continues, with the spotlight picking up its pace as the song's tempo picks up, until the drums kick in...
Then all at once, the spotlight disappears and the lights all come on to riotous cheering from the crowd.
There, in the entranceway, is the now-infamous ambulance, red and white lights flashing and a grinning bastard behind the wheel.]
DR: Well, there's Somers, but where's Oz?
[That question goes unanswered as the ambulance creeps closer to the ring. EMS waves one giant hand out the window while the letters "E-M-S" flash on the Unitron, in that order, alternating between red on a white background and white on a red background. He stops the vehicle just short of the padding surrounding the ring and steps out.]
DH: "Doctor EMS" ERIC MATTHEW SOMERS!
[Still grinning, EMS slaps his ham-sized palms on the hood of the ambulance, causing the entire body to bounce on its shocks. At this signal, the back doors open.]
DH: And his partner...
[Another round of riotous cheers accompanies the emergence of Randall Osbourne from the back of the ambulance. He also seems ready for business as he and Somers enter the ring.]
DH: "The Dark Horse" RANDALL OSBOURNE!
SS: Hey, they can't leave that thing parked in the aisle!
AM: Why don't you go tell them that, Sam.
SS: I won't have to. Vyolynce and his partner will dish out some parking tickets along with their Justice tonight.
DR: We'll find out who his partner is in a few minutes. He certainly didn't seem very enthusistic about it earlier tonight.
AM: But to be fair, when is he ever enthusiastic about anything?
DH: And their opponents...
[Soft blue lights bathe the arena, casting an ethereal glow on all in attendance as a remixed "Toccata et Fuga in D Minor" creeps over the PA. A wall of blue flame hearalds the appearance of the stoic figure of Vyolynce, the distant blue arena lights reflecting in his mirrored mask.]
DH: Here is the Rampage champion, VYOLYNCE!
[He approaches the ring at a deliberate pace, never removing his stare from the general location of his opponents. The crowd's response falls of deaf ears as he continues his steady procession and climbs the ring steps. He steps between the ropes and stands in the corner, draped in his heavy black robe. He raises both hands to his face, using the left to remove his mirrored face plate and the right to peel back the hood of his robe, revealing the equally featurelss mask underneath them. After taking a moment to bow his head slightly, he removes his robe with one fluid motion, discarding it outside the ring with the glass visor wrapped within its shadowy folds. The lights return of their own accord as the hauting music fades back into the silent shadows from whence it came. He is conspicuously alone, with neither a memeber of the Coven nor anyone else at ringside.]
DR: Vyolynce leaving the Rampage Title in the locker room tonight, as it has nothing to do with this match.
AM: Nice of him to think of it so highly.
DH: And his partner...
AM: Moment of truth time, boys.
[As if pulled by strings, every head in the arena turns toward the entrance more or less simultaneously.]
SS: That stupid ambulance is in my way! Who's coming?
AM: I don't see...
DR: Vyolynce just took out the knee of EMS with a chop-block from behind!
AM: What?!
DR: And a sweep kick for Oz! he's taking on both men by himself!
SS: Wait, where's his partner?
AM: He doesn't have one, you dolt! He's on his own, and he caught EMS and Oz looking the wrong way.
DR: Vyolynce stomping away at the knee and leg of EMS as the referee forces Oz to the apron.
SS: Oz better stop occupying the ref's attention, or Vyo will rip that leg of EMS clean off.
AM: Unlikely this early in the match, Sam. Although that falling leg snap is a good start.
DR: You have to wonder how long Vyolynce can survive this two-on-one environment, though. While he's working over EMS, Randall Osbourne is fresh and healthy on the apron.
SS: I think his plan is to never let Oz in, Dave.
DR: Easier said than done, especially with the combined wingspan of EMS and Oz, not to mention the size difference compared to the 219-pound Vyo.
AM: Plus it would require Oz playing by the rules and never coming in illegally.
DR: That too.
[Despite Vyolynce's best efforts, EMS doesn't stay on the mat long. As Vyo moves in to apply more pressure, he is sent crashing to the mat by a boulder-like headbutt. EMS tags in Oz, who wastes no time in punching Vyolynce straight in his masked face.]
DR: And there we go. Oz in now, tossing Vyoylnce into the corner and charging in with a big back elbow. Choking the masked man out with a foot to the throat.
AM: Oz taking out his frustrations over the Coven's attack on Nina, even though Vyolynce had nothing to do with it.
SS: You'd rather he hunted down Tigress, Angel, and Leslie?
AM: Well... yes and no. With Lisa Drake at her side, I think Nina's capable of fighting her own battles.
DR: They took the Women's Tag Titles form the Furies this past Rampage. You have to wonder if Oz has similar plans toward Vyo's Rampage Title.
SS: Right now I think he's just looking to beat Vyo up.
DR: And that side slam's a good way to go in that direction. Following up with a leg drop -- no! Vyo caught it and turns Oz over into a reverse knee lock!
AM: Well, Oz is the one who picked this fight. He should have expected that. You don't just give Vyo a leg if you can help it.
DR: I think he's learning that right now, as Vyo stands to apply more pressure.
[Oz manages to roll onto his back and kick Vyo away with his other leg, but is definitely feeling the effects of that hold as he gingerly returns to his feet.]
SS: Vyo knows he has to stay on whoever's in the ring if he wants to win.
AM: You heard him earlier... this isn't about winning, it's about survival. It's like he knew he'd be in a handicap match.
DR: And there's a perfect sign of the advantage of Somers and Oz, as Somers low-bridged Vyo going into the ropes! The referee scolding him for that, but Oz rolls outside!
SS: See? With that big lummox distracting the ref, Oz can do whatever he wants out there!
[CLANG!]
AM: Including sending Vyolynce head-first into the bumper of that ambulance!
SS: And why is that stupid thing STILL out there?
DR: Maybe Somers has the only key on him.
[CRASH!]
DR: And Oz slams Vyo across the hood! The ambulance being used as a weapon by Randall Osbourne while EMS keeps the ref occupied!
SS: How can the ref not hear those impacts?
AM: Well, Somers is a loud guy...
[Oz rolls back into the ring and takes his turn keeping the ref looking the wrong way.]
SS: Oh come on!
AM: Look at the grin on Somers's face! What do you suppose...
DR: GOOD LORD! Elbow drop from the apron to Vyo, who's still laying on the hood of the ambulance!
SS: That bastard!
AM: Exactly, Sam.
[EMS heaves Vyo back into the ring, where Oz keeps the pressure on him with a knee drop across the lower back.]
AM: Oz going for the first pin attempt of the match...
DR: Only gets two, as Vyolynce manages to get a shoulder up.
SS: It was probably a nervous twitch. A reflex.
AM: Maybe.
DR: Oz tags back to EMS... whip into the ropes... POWERSLAM! Vyo got crushed under the weight of Somers, and there's a pin! One! Two! Th--foot on the ropes!
AM: Vyolynce just snuck out of that one, but I don't think he can take much more.
SS: I would have just taken the pinfall and been done with it.
AM: Well, that's why you're not Rampage champion.
SS: He may not be much longer if this keeps up.
DR: EMS has him hooked, and lifts him up... holding him... one-handed!
SS: Show off.
DR: That must have been a ten-second delay on that suplex!
AM: Vyo must be seeing all kinds of colors behind that mask now.
[Confident that Vyo isn't going anywhere, EMS brings Oz back into the match with a tag.]
DR: Got to admit... so far, the team of EMS and Randall Osbourne have been playing by the rules.
SS: As long as you ignore the use of the ambulance.
DR: Well, it's still more than we were expecting.
AM: They know they have the advantage, that's why.
DR: Oz pulling Vyo to his feet, badmouthing him a bit before driving an elbow to the jaw... well, I think it was to the jaw. Vyo fired into the ropes... clothesline DUCKED!
[Vyo slips underneath the clothesline and turns on a dime, bringing his arms up underneath Oz's and grabbing a double chin lock. He then pulls back suddenly, impacting the back of Oz's skull with a concussive double knee lift!]
DR/AM/SS: OUCH!
AM: He calls that move "Oblivion," and it's not hard to see why! Oz could be knocked cold!
DR: Vyo... going for a cover?!
AM: He must be desperate. It's not like him to accept any decision that isn't submission.
DR: One! Two! EMS makes the save!
SS: Ok, hands up all you idiots who weren't expecting THAT.
[EMS forces Vyoylnce to his feet and shoots him into the corner, where he rebounds like a black-clad pinball. Then he casually steps back on to the apron, where a grogy Oz, still seeing stars and possibly other interesting astronomical bodies, tags him in legally.]
AM: I think that was Vyo's last surprise, guys. This one's over.
DR: Vyo sent into the rops again, and this time isn't able to duck the clothesline!
[As Vyolynce gets sent into a full 360 from EMS's tree limb-like clothesline, the scene cuts to backstage, where we find Angel uneasily watching the match on a monitor. EMS tags in Oz before he hefts her brother into the sky, and then drops him, stomach-first, across Oz's outstretched knee. Wincing, Angel turns to someone behind her.]
ANGEL: Well? You've come all this way.
[The shadows behind her seem to shift, but it could be a trick of the light.]
ANGEL: Will you not finish the journey and complete the circle? You once walked away... now is the time to return.
[An uneasy silence, as the monitor behind Angel's shoulder displays another tag, and more double-teaming as Oz and EMS drill Vyolynce with a swarm of fists to the head and stomach in the corner. The masked man slumps to the mat, but we don't see him hit; the entire screen is momentarily blacked out as something moves between the camera and the light -- something BIG. Angel allows herself a small smirk and departs in the same direction.]
DR: I don't like the look of that.
AM: Too bad no one else in the arena saw it.
SS: Yeah, but will they get here in time? Vyo may not last much longer.
DR: EMS forces Vyo back into the corner, and drives the air out of him with a series of hard shoulder thrusts to the midsection.
[There is some commotion in the crowd, as several fans look toward the entrance.]
SS: Who is it? Who is it? Someone call a tow truck and get that thing out of here!
AM: Calm down. No one's over there. No, wait... I do see someone.
SS: Don't keep me in suspense, Red. Who?
AM: Angel.
SS: ANGEL?!
DR: It certainly looks like her. I guess she wanted a better view.
AM: Well, she better look good, because I think Vyo's going under the knife!
DR: He certainly is! EMS is looking to perform some Open Heart Surgery!
[On the apron, Oz looks over the parked ambulance and sees Angel standing at the entrance. HE points at her, remembering the part she played in the attack on Nina Grimsson. What he doesn't see is the 6'8" monster emerging from the crowd behind him -- until he gets grabbed by the throat and tossed from the apron into the hood of the ambulance, just as EMS crashes his titanic heart punch into Vyolynce's chest.]
SS: OH MY GOD! SERGE! IT'S SERGE! SERGE ANNIS HAS RETURNED AND ALIGNED HIMSELF WITH VYOLYNCE! That'll teach EMS to pretend to be the Epitome in his promos! GO SERGE!
[SSSSSSSSSSLAP!]
SS: What the hell was that for!?
AM: That's *not* Serge, you idiot! Get a grip!
[As the mysterious black-clad giant slides into the ring, we get a good shot of his face. It is most decidedly NOT Serge Annis. His eyes are devoid of irises and pupils, just two pools of white emptiness. Macabre tattoos cover his upper body like lichen, peeking out from behind a plain black tank top as he wraps his arms around the throat of EMS from behind.]
DR: Cobra clutch! Whoever that is, he's got EMS in a cobra cl-- SUPLEX! EMS WAS JUST HURLED BACKWARDS BY A COBRA CLUTCH SUPLEX FROM THIS MAN!
AM: Oz is down on the outside, Vyolynce looks to be dead in the middle of the ring, and now EMS gets dropped on his head -- there are bodies everywhere, and whoever this... this THING is, he's standing tall among the carnage!
SS: But... who is he?
[Angel casualy strolls down to ringside, keeping a safe distance from Oz as he starts to stir. Back in the ring, the newcomer surveys the wreckage, then delivers some hard stomps before dropping an elbow across EMS's face.]
AM: Why hasn't the referee thrown this out yet?
[With emotionless nonchalance, the stranger takes a new position -- in Vyolynce's corner.]
DR: There's your answer, Amy... that guy's Vyo's parnter!
AM: What?! Who... How... Why... Where did he find this guy?!
SS: He's got to be over 300 pounds!
DR: I'd say just under 350, myself. In the meantime, we still have EMS and Vyo lying in the ring, both barely moving. Oz is pulling himself together on the other side, and this crowd doesn't know what to think as the referee starts counting down both EMS and Vyolynce!
[Vyolynce is the first to show any significant signs of life, rolling to his stomach after being laid out by EMS's heart punch. He pulls himself on to his knees, and notices Angel at ringside. She points to the occupied corner, and Vyo's head swivels in that direction.]
AM: I'd do anything to know what expression is on his face right now.
SS: Aaaaaanything?
AM: AnyTHING Sam. Not anyONE. And especially not you.
DR: It can't be a knowing one, that's for sure. He's been staring in that direction for too long.
[Vyo's general gaze goes from the man in the corner, to Angel, to the prone form of EMS, and back to the corner again. But when the man who is apparently his partner reaches out his hand for a tag, Vyolynce doesn't hesitate to oblige.]
SS: Talk about tagging in the fresh man!
DR: Here comes Oz! But he gets clotheslined down!
AM: It's like an evil, slightly smaller version of Somers in there!
DR: Wait, I'm getting something over my headset...
SS: If it's Sultry Sweedish Sexpots, I can explain...
[Slap! And in the ring, the mystery man hauls EMS up to his feet, stunning him with a hard punch to the stomach.]
DR: I think someone's identified this man! They're telling me he's called... I think... yeah, Avanter. He and Vyolynce... what? They used to be partners in a fed called the World Wrestling Association several years ago.
AM & SS: Partners?
DR: Tag Team Champions, actually. Undefeated... for four months.
AM: Uh-oh.
DR: But right now, this... Avanter... is on his own until Vyo recovers. But anyone who can toss EMS around like that doesn't need too much help! Gut-wrench powerbomb on the 360-pound EMS!
AM: This guy's unreal! The ring can't take much more of that!
SS: Here comes Oz again! Some people are just too stupid to quit.
[Oz breaks up Avanter's pin attempt with a boot across the back of the head. Avanter stands up, and he and Oz begin trading punches.]
DR: Avanter and Randall Osbourne going toe-to-toe!
AM: Oz isn't the legal man, but I think the referee's lost track of that a long time ago.
DR: He may lose more than that soon -- this thing's getting out of control! Oz blocks a massive right hand, but takes a headbutt from Avanter!
SS: He was just buying Somers some time!
AM: What does Somers have in his hand?
DR: Tongue Depressor! Let's see if EMS can bring Avanter down with this mandible claw!
SS: This ILLEGAL mandible claw!
AM: Vyolynce back in the ring! Dropkick to the back of Somers's knee! And another!
DR: Somers loses his leverage advantage, and Avanter breaks the hold!
AM: Oz is back up once again, and this time he has Vyo! Scoop slam! Elbow drop misses!
SS: Avanter's got his mitts around Somers's throat!
DR: He couldn't possibly... well, we'll never know. Oz turns and saves EMS from a possible chokeslam, taking Avanter down with a spear!
AM: Vyolynce takes advantage of Somers being down and slams the back of his head into the mat!
[Vyolynce applies a figure-four necklock to EMS on the mat, while Avanter and Oz go at it one more time. This time Oz takes the advantage by ducking a punch and driving a knee into Avanter's midsection.]
DR: This is chaos! I think Somers and Avanter are the legal men... the ref is trying to pry Vyolynce off Somers, but Oz pushes Avanter over the ref in an improvised school-boy trip!
AM: And now Oz breaks Vyolynce's hold with a pair of stomps to the face! And one for Avanter, too!
[Somers coughs for air after having been in Vyo's choke for so long, while Oz pulls Vyo to his feet.]
DR: Oz spins Vyo around... back suplex! Vyo flips out of it and lands behind him! Shove into the corner -- AND AVANTER HITS OZ WITH A SCYTHE CLOTHESLINE FROM BEHIND!
SS: Man! That's brutal when a cruiser like Vyo does it -- I'm amazed Oz wasn't decapitated!
AM: EMS is back up! He just nailed Vyolynce in the head with that piece of wood he had earlier!
DR: I think the referee has seen enough! He's waving this one off!
[The bell rings, but the four men completely ignore it. Avanter places Oz in a sitting position on the top rope, then climbs up to the second and clamps a gloved hand around Oz's throat once again. With his free hand, Avanter points...]
AM: No way... not to the floor?
SS: I think he means it!
DR: EMS makes the save! Super back drop sends Avanter to the mat! But I think he took himself out with it!
[Again the bell rings. Why do people think that will help?]
DR: Vyolynce is up, but Oz comes off the second rope with a flying clothesline!
AM: All four men are down!
SS: Wait! Now who's coming down?!
DR: Leslie and Tigress! Angel is calling them down!
[As the Coven hit the ring and retrieve Vyolynce, Avanter rolls to the outside alongside them.]
DH: Ladies and gentlemen, the referee has THROWN OUT THIS MATCH! NO CONTEST!
[The crowd doesn't notice or care, as they watch Oz and EMS groggily get back to their feet.]
DR: Well, this match may have been a mess, but something tells me that's nothing compared to what will happen down the road! These two sides haven't finished yet!
AM: So why is Sabbat Justice retreating? They have the numbers advantage... even if three of them are women one-third the size of either Oz or EMS.
SS: It's not a retreat, Red. They made their point -- Sabbat Justice is about to become much more dangerous. EMS surprised us with Randall Osbourne a few weeks ago; Vyo just evened the score. Now things will REALLY get interesting.
DR: And speaking of interesting, we'll see you for Against All Odds, coming up next!
[The UWF logo and credits appear as the camera cuts from a shaken but angry EMS and Oz in the ring to the reunited team of Vyoylnce and Avanter in the aisle, with Angel between them and Leslie and Tigress in front. The last thing we see before the camera cuts is Tigress glancing over her shoudler at Avanter; the look on her face is quite possibly the same one Vyo had earlier -- shock, with a hint of trepidation. Fade to black.]
