On August 1, 2004, a tortuous 33-month engagement finally bore the fruit of marriage. A forgone conclusion for several years, the union of Katherine Dunn and Chris Ingersoll was officially witnessed by friends, family, and/or co-workers at the Pepper Tree Inn in Greensboro, NC. The festivities began at noon, but arrivals began at around eleven.
Rev. Dr. Susan Kennedy perfromed -- and custom-tailored -- the ceremony, which featured pink rosebuds for the mothers, a common cup, a myrrh-anointed handfasting, and of course the exchange of blessed rings.
The obligatory Photo-Op gauntlet ate up too much time -- as usual -- before those in attendence finally made it to the buffet lunch, provided by the quality staff at Pepper Moon Catering. After the cutting of the cake and a toast from best man Kevin Kesterson, the reception began and wound out the afternoon. Music for the ceremony, dinner, and reception was provided at nearly no advance notice by Keith Henderson of Digital Sounds DJ service, who did a fantastic job.
We thank all who attended, and those who intended to attend, and we look forward to sharing our lives with you for a long time to come. If you have any pictures of the event that you would like to share, feel free to send them to us.
